Digital Wish, a Vermont non-profit organization is on a mission to modernize Vermont schools. The organization sought a handful of Vermont schools, ready and willing to tackle a technology modernization initiative, to include providing access to laptop computers for each student in fourth, fifth and sixth grades. SES was chosen for this remarkable program because of our educators’ commitment to providing students with opportunities to participate in project-based, technological learning requiring the use of higher order thinking skills necessary in today’s economy. Digital Wish provided SES with $5,000 to put toward laptop computers and provided educator support and resources to students and teachers. In addition to Digital Wish’s involvement, this became a reality largely due to local contributions from the following organizations: The Woodstock Endowment Association, the Sherburne Women’s Club, and Killington/Pico Rotary. We thank Rick Dustin-Eichler, WCSU Tech Coordinator, for his support in this effort and all contributors for helping SES pioneer this initiative.
